This assignment was designed for students to focus on analyzing how an argument is constructed. It teaches students to identify how different rhetorical tools (figurative language, metaphor, allusion, etc.) create rhetorical appeals (ethos, pathos, logos).

This assignment is designed to help students become aware of and then add to the conversation surrounding a focused issue of their choice. It teaches students skills such as outlining, beginning researching, sources analysis, critical thinking and idea synthesis all while requiring sustained and coherent writing.
