My Teacher
Pictured above is the teacher who taught me how to teach. Mrs. Bennion taught me classical violin for over 10 years and throughout those 10 years, I learned the art of active learning: learning through doing. After presenting a concept, Mrs. Bennion would then ask me to play the concept, give me specific feedback, and end by reminding me what we just learned. My lesson plans reflect this format of 1) prepare for learning, 2) direct the learning and 3) reinforce the learning.
